I lived in Hollywood (minutes from Fort Lauderdale) for years and I wasn’t a fan of Fort Laudy (what some of us called it). There’s nice people watching and a beach that isn’t as crowded as Miami Beach but that’s about it.
    1. It feels like you’re away from everything. The mall isn’t that popular. Most locals travel west to Sawgrass Mall in Sunrise instead. The concert venue is in Sunrise also. Even the Hard Rock Casino is in the next city over.
    2. Las Olas feels like a watered down South Beach. But, it doesn’t get as crowded so some may love that.
    3. There’s a train in Fort Laudy so plan accordingly. I think it’s the only track in Broward County. Hmmm
    4. Traffic. Speaks for itself
    5. Won’t matter for tourists but residential areas are very crowded for Broward County. Lots of street parking.

Not saying it’s not a good place, just a reminder that no place is perfect. I personally wouldn’t want to live there but visit for a day is good enough for a tourist. Just don’t spend a week long vacation there.

I go to Fort Lauderdale with my family almost every summer. I would say it is a very nice city. There are beaches that are family filled, the cities are very nice, and they even have city electronic scooters that you can ride for minimal charge.

Big Sur, blah, head over to Lake Tahoe instead, then go get drunk in Reno. Atleast you can swim in Lake Tahoe without worrying about a rip tide or being accosted by some territorial land owner that lives next to a public beach and tries to lord over it like a troll.

No Portland OR, the harbour of a violent Democrat approved terrorist group. Let me write the dialogue… You looking to get punched in the head for no reason, hit with a bike lock, get a shake with cement thrown at you. Come to the most tolerant city in America.

Everyone goes to nyc and LA. Im bored of the tourist spots i wanna explore the real USA.
HOWEVER the way ppl describe those southern states to me is like its Alabama in the 1800’s. Absolute no-go-zone. Now im scared i might get lynched on sight and hung from the tallest tree in town. Or tied to the back of some hill billys pickup truck and dragged 20 miles further south till im all bone.

    DONT COME TO NASHVILLE

  45. Carson Clow on December 9, 2019 at 12:54 am

I’ve lived in Oregon my whole life and Bend is where you want to be if you like outdoors. Smith rock state park is one of the best rock climbing places in US and Mt Bachelor is one of the best mt’s for skiing and snowboarding in US. Also, you can climb the South Sister in about 10 hrs. Sunriver resort is close by to and it has a lot to offer as well.
