The BEST PLACE to Live in JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI E45³

Ridgeland is by far the best place to live in the Jackson Metro Area in my opinion. There is so much on going construction, I can’t wait to see what it will be like in 5 years.

Thanks for showing some of the more positive, prospects, & aspects of Jackson, MS and surrounding areas.

I recently saw a video of downtown Jackson the area near Jackson State University and was appalled of the state and condition of those neighborhoods. The were so run down and there were so many abandoned homes & vacant lots. The also spoke about high crime rates an gave Jackson a thumbs down and one of the worst places to live and raise a family. It really bothers me that that vast area is in such deep decline and the City itself in I heard was about 83% African American. A city where the mayor is black and blacks hold some of the most prominent positions in leadership & government.

I do understand that there is a great deal of poverty in those areas and hope they can one day revitalization can come to those area, with hope they could be largely populated by blacks, and become somewhat of a Mecca in which all aspects of life would flourish. From the best of health care & nutrition to Education & opportunity.

But from your perspective looks like that idea would be too challenging & costly, thinking of how old the infrastructure must be. Seem like attention is being given to these areas you are pointing out. Where new infrastructure and new businesses & living spaces which are indeed beautiful with the lakes & greenery.

Anyway man thanks for sharing & sharing a more positive, beautiful side of Jackson. Peace

Hello. I wondered about the development in Jackson and Ridgeland for a state that supposed to be the poorest area in the US. Could you help to to explain the development in the cities?

I would love to see footage of areas around Jackson State University. My daughter is considering going there but we can’t get on campus to see the school or areas around it. Wondering what the malls, restaurant, and things to do around there are like.

*Do other areas too like Clinton…where are some thriving areas for young black professionals & young families? I want some country living with a dash of city (or at least for it to be with in a decent commute) do you have any suggestions?

Dude, you’re way too impressed with exploitive white capitalism. Go back to the jackson and buy a house for 25k, fix it up and be happy.

I bet the rich white folks aren’t so happy anyway.

I miss living in Jackson, MS…….What about Belhaven off North State Street? I lived on Pine Street there and it was a lovely place to live. McDade’s Convenience Store was an excellent place to shop also.
I live back in my hometown of Muskegon, MI and I have love for it, but I cannot deny that I enjoyed very much living in Mississippi and the people there are much more pleasant to be around.

Hello. Do you agree with many of the stories that the media used to portray the state of Mississippi, as being the least educated, unhealthiest state in the US?

  30. Jairous Parker on December 29, 2020 at 11:10 pm

I love your videos! You do a great service in the promotion of Mississippi to us from outside the state. It’s absolutely a beautiful state!

Isn’t Ridgeland just a white fright degeneration.

Surely, fondren or Poindexter park would be way more interesting.
