The 10 BEST State Parks in America for RVing
The 10 BEST State Parks in America for RVing
On today’s episode we take you around the country with us to explore the top 10 BEST State Parks in America for RVing. We visited 40 states and traveled more than 16,000 miles with our RV in 2018. During that time we stayed at more than 100 places ranging from RV resorts to Walmart parking lots and everything in between. Almost every single state park we camped in was incredible, so we challenged ourselves to pick our ten favorite. We even have a bonus entry at the end of our list – a National Park that we were able to fit our 37′ rig into!
Let us know your favorite state parks in the comments! If you’ve stayed at any of the ones on our list, let us know: what did you think?

We are buying out first RV, we were mainly tent campers in the past, got tired of setting up tents. Going to use your list as a starting point for a traveling bucket list if you will. Next summer of 2020 we are going to try to get out to devils tower. Thank you for sharing. Subscribed to you as well
Great video. What are your thoughts on doing top 10 privately owned RV parks?
We love your channel! We are part time RVers. You guys are an inspiration to us! We just started our channel. It’s been so much fun! Looking forward to all your new videos!

• One of your videos popped up a few days ago, so I gave it a watch, and boy am I glad that I did because you have such a lovely family. I’ve been binge watching and have fallen in love with all of you and the life you’re living! The Littles are precious and Terra is such a great big sister! They don’t know it yet, but they are living the dream and creating wonderful memories!
Good job, mom & dad…good job!
Happy travels! 😀
New subscriber here! Love the video, state parks are our favorite places too. We’ve only hit the ones in Missouri so far. If you haven’t checked out Echo Bluff State Park in MO, I think you’ll love it.
Danforth bay baby the bluffs!
Thanks for the great info!
How much are stare parks a night?
Thanks for sharing! Keep up the great work!
Two great state parks in Texas—if you can get reservations are Garner State Park to swim or float the Frio River all day or hike Mt Ol’ Baldy. Then there’s Blanco State Park for the falls. For an RV resort: Fredericksburg RV Park near the most quaint town in Texas of Fredericksburg—also home of the great Admiral Nimitz WWII museum. Wait! Then there’s Inks Lake State Park and Longhorn State Park near the Longhorn Caverns and…Well, just gotta spend more time in Texas—your new home state!
I love your videos there very helpful please keep them coming where planning to start your full time RV living in 01/2020 this video will help when my hubby and I start our adventure thanks so much.
I took notes! Planning a trip out west with our 37 ft motorhome.
Have you been to the upper peninsula of MICHIGAN? So many beautiful state parks up there.
F.J. McLain State Park and Tahquamenon Falls State Park are two of my favorites. Best to go before June and after Labor Day. The state parks are always full otherwise.
Great video! We will have to check out some of these for our next adventure! … hate it didn’t see this before our trip… lol 😆
Ahhhh these all look amazing! I’ve been to Elephant Butte lots of times. And my great grandparents lived in T or C (tiny little town way back then!) for a long time 😜 our family has a long running joke comment "you can’t get that in T or C" – because anytime they visited us, they’d say that about nearly *everything*. 😂😂😂
Thanks for the fab tips! And can’t wait to stay at the Devil’s Tower National monument. We have family just northwest of there in Spearfish 🙌
Devil’s Towers is a National Monuments not a National Park so it doesn’t qualify. Congress designate national parks; presidential proclamation establish national monuments. The National Park Service oversees some National Monuments but so does the U.S. Forest Service, US Fish and Wildlife, BLM, Department of Defense, and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
Great video guys!!!! Check out some of the state parks in Louisiana, they are beautiful!
Whenever you make your way to Texas again you have to check out Padre Island National park. We were able to camp on the beach with our 43 ft 5er. It was Amazing! It is boondocking, but you have nice sites directly on the gulf with picnic tables and a bathhouse. Also, just a few miles away at Mustang Island they have campsites with hookups at the state park. We absolutely love it in that area! We don’t make YouTube videos, but we have been traveling with our kiddos for years due to my husbands job requiring 98% fulltime travel. I’m loving your videos! Particularly all your rv show videos. Most of the youtubers will just create one rv show video, with just a few tours of their favorite rigs. I loved that you guys showed idk, like 30 rigs lol.
I love when you let us know about some of your favorite campgrounds and favorite tips you have figured out along your journey and can pass them on to others. Thank you!
Wow that was very informative. We like knowing about all these state parks for so cheap.
Planning to rent an RV for next summer so these suggestions gave me great motivation on how to plan our trip. Thank you for the video! ❤
Love your videos. Our family loves our forest river vibe and getting away for a camping getaway . If your ever in southeast Kentucky check out the Breaks interstate park.
What’s the length limit at most National Parks?
Thanks for all the suggestions. We were just talking about finding some state parks.
Very helpful nice 👍🏽 thanks 🙏
In my backyard of Wisconsin is Point Beach state park. Each site is roomy and surrounded by trees, so you have privacy. It sits right on lake Michigan so a climb over the dunes gets you on the beach. Be forewarned though, Lake Michigan is cold and is only swim-able from July 1st thru Sept 30th. Although in the forest, it is near many attraction near Green Bay, so a good place to stay and visit.
You were about 20 min away from where we are home-based out of in Iowa! HA. They are closing that Nuc plant btw. 😉 Iowa really is beautiful. All of these look amazing! Hoping to check it out soon! – Melissa
If you come to Shreveport Louisiana you need to stay at Cypress state park there is hiking and a great zoo with beautiful peacocks the kids would love it.
