Bear Hunting Forum Gets Heated

The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission held a public forum in Haywood county to discuss addressing the growing bear population across the state. Officials said there are 16,000 bears in North Carolina. With increasing sightings in residential neighborhoods state officials are getting input from hunters on possibly expanding hunting laws to allow hunters to kill two bears a year rather than the current one allotted. The meeting is one of a series of open forums for the public to give input to the Commission.by Kimberly KingFollow Kim on Twitter @KimKingReports
